Main Examination Structure

The WBCS Mains consists of:

  • 2 qualifying papers
  • 6 compulsory papers
  • 2 optional papers (only for Group A & B)

Qualifying Papers (Only Pass Required)

  • Paper A: Bengali/Nepali – 300 Marks
  • Paper B: English – 300 Marks

After clearing the Mains, candidates will face a Personality Test. Marks vary by group:
